Forever, Always, and Then Some

Chapter 84

Willow peeks in and sees Buffy still sleeping and goes down stairs.

Dawn: I thought you were telling Buffy dinner was ready.

Willow: She is still asleep. I didn’t want to disturb her. I think she is having a good dream.

Dawn: Why do you think that?

Willow: Because she was smiling and I thinks she said Angel in her sleep.

Dawn: Figures, she has him on the brain. Would you believe she actually had me ring him up to tell him she was going to take a nap.

Willow: Why?

Dawn: Don’t know. She said tell Angel, that after I take a shower, I am taking a nap.

Willow: Did you?

Dawn: Of course. And he was extremely pleased. But he got off so fast I didn’t get to talk to him about me coming up there.

Willow: Oh my, I think I know what is going on. But I can’t believe she hasn’t told me.

Dawn: What are you talking about?

Willow: Buffy is dreaming all right, but I will lay odds she is not alone.

Dawn: Willow, I am not following you.

Willow: I shouldn’t be telling you.

Dawn: If it has to do with sex, I think I can handle it. I am not a little kid.

Willow: Well, I guess. You know how Buffy and I can send our thoughts.

Dawn: Yes?

Willow: Well that can be done over distance. But that is not all. The same techniques used to send thought can also be used to project yourself into another person’s dream. Sort of as an observer.

Dawn: So Buffy is upstairs watching Angel’s dream.

Willow: No I think she has gone past the visiting level and onto the active level. She was talking in her sleep. I think she was actively participating in the dream.

Dawn: And you think they are dreaming about sex.

Willow: What do you think they would be dreaming about?

Dawn: Sex. So she is upstairs having dream sex with Angel. Think he can lose his soul?

Willow: No, it is only a dream.

Dawn: They keep finding loop holes. I’m glad. Maybe one day they will find a cure.

Willow: We can all hope.

Later that night. Spike has made the rounds and swings by the Summer house. He makes his traditional climb up the trellis. As he watches through the window, he sees her moving around. He becomes mesmerized by her. He wants her. He decides to stop playing around and make his move.

He returns to the ground and slips in through a basement window. He makes his way upstairs. He passes Buffy’s room, he glances inside and sees her sleeping. He moves on down to the room of his beloved. He removes from his pocket a small brown bottle and a cloth. He quickly saturates the cloth and enters the room. Being careful not to hurt, her he quickly covers her mouth before she can react. She collapses and he scoops her up and takes her from the house. He carries her through the night. He arrives at the old mansion. He places her in a room he has fixed up for her. She begins to awaken

Spike: I am glad Buffy had me come here today. I was wondering where we could go to be alone. I hope you like what I’ve done here. It was pretty rushed but I have food and water. Oh and hey I have, music too. What would you like to hear? Maybe some Aerosmith. No I think you might prefer some Queen.

He looks at her. She shakes her head in confusion.

Spike: Oh don‘t want any music? That’s fine. We can find other things to entertain us. Food. I have grapes. Would you like some grapes? Seedless.

Willow: What the hell are you doing?

Spike: Hey don’t yell. I will think you are mad at me.

Willow: I am mad, now I don’t know what you think you are doing but I am getting the out of here.

She heads for the door but becomes light headed and he catches her before she falls.

Willow: Ow! My ribs.

Spike lays her on the bed.

Spike: Sorry, but you were falling.

Willow: What did you do to me?

Spike: Nothing. I just carried you here so we could be alone.

Willow: Alone. What is wrong with you? Why would I want to be alone with you?

Spike: Because we belong together. You and me forever.

Willow: What? Have you gone completely mad?

Spike: No, I love you. I can make you happy. If you give me a chance.

At the Summer’s house.

Dawn shakes Buffy

Dawn: Buffy wake up. Wake up.

Buffy: What is it? Conner?

Dawn: No, Willow is gone.

Buffy: Gone? What do you mean gone?

Dawn: Gone as in not here. As in missing.

Buffy: Have you looked for her?

Dawn: Duh, of course I have. I got up to use the bathroom and went in to make sure she was okay and her bed was empty, so I looked for her. She is not in this house. Oh and the basement window is wide open, again.

Buffy: She has to be here. She could not have vanished.

Dawn: Then you find her.

An hour later Xander arrives.

Buffy: Thanks for coming. I have no idea where she has gotten to.

Xander: We will find her. She may have just gone for a walk.

Buffy: In Sunnydale? At night? With vampires on a killing spree?

Xander: Or maybe not. Hey isn’t she taking pain medicine. Do you think she may be a little disoriented from them?

Buffy: She is taking Tylenol. Nothing but Tylenol.

Xander: Oh, I figured the doctor would have given her something a lot stronger.

Buffy: Uh, no, he said Tylenol.

Xander: Well why doesn’t Dawn stay with Conner and you and I take a ride around to see what we can find.

Buffy: Dawn, will you be okay alone?

Dawn: I’ll be fine. Just find Willow.

Buffy: Xander, lets go. Dawn, call me on the cell if you need me or Willow shows up.

Dawn: Yes, now go.

Hours pass and they find nothing. As the sun rises they return to the house.

Dawn: You didn’t find her?

Buffy: No and now I am really scared.

Dawn: Well we know it isn’t a vampire. Cause they have to be invited, right?

Buffy: Right but I can’t see her just walking out of here on her own.

Dawn: Should we uh call the police?

Buffy: What good can they do?

Dawn: I guess, its not like you can tell them that your friend may have been abducted by a demon.

Buffy: Not really.

Xander: We will find her.

Dawn: She will be okay, I just know it. She knows what goes on here. She won’t end up like those others.

Xander: She’s right, Willow knows how to take care of herself.

Buffy: Damn it. Xander, I guess it up to us. We need to get back out there. Dawn you need to go to school so Conner will have to go to the Magic Shop I guess.

Dawn: Uh no school, no exam today remember so I am not allowed on campus. But I do need to study.

Buffy: Can you study and watch Conner.

Dawn: Sure, he is fine. Go!

Xander heads off in his car. Buffy leaves in the van. They drive around town. Buffy decides to stop by and see if Spike has seen anything. She enters the crypt and opens the entrance to his bed chamber. She jumps in.

Buffy: Now where the hell has he gotten to. Hmph.

She heads back to the van and continues searching the town. Xander calls, he has had not luck.

Buffy: Xander, I have one more stop, but I would rather have you go with me.

Xander: Sure. Where?

Buffy: The mansion. That is where we found the bodies. Hey, let me call Kate, maybe she would help.

Later, Buffy, Xander and Kate meet outside the mansion.

Kate: I am surprised you called.

Buffy: I am not afraid to ask for help.

Kate: Good. Me either. So do we take a sweep. Is Spike her to?

Buffy: He wasn’t home. You two, take the garden door, I will go in the front. Oh, never mind you know to be careful.

Xander: You need to remember that too. I do not want Angel on your case.

Buffy: I can handle Angel, now lets go.

They slip into the mansion and begin a sweep. Spike comes from the back.

Spike: What the bloody hell are you doing here?

Buffy: I was going to ask you the same.

Spike: Well I uh was doing a sweep and it got late and I kinda got stuck here.

Buffy: You could have taken the tunnels. So out with it.

Spike: Fine, I wanted to taste the finer things in life. See how the better half live.

Buffy: Wrong, you use to live here. Not buying it.

Spike: Then hell I don’t know. What am I doing here?

Buffy: My guess is Harmony. Okay Harm come on out. Front and center.

Spike: Harmony is not here. I swear.

Buffy: Please like I would believe you. You just stood here and lied to me. Xander lets go find Harmony.

Xander: But I get to stake her right?

Buffy: Sure, you still angry with the way she attacked Anya.

Xander: Yes.

Buffy: Good, use that anger.

Spike: Come on, I am telling you she ain’t bloody here.

Xander: Well we want to see that for ourselves.

Spike jumps in front of them.

Spike: Fine, I have a girl back there but it ain’t Harmony. She ain’t even a vampire. Can’t you give a guy a break. You three barge in there and you ruin it.

Buffy: You picked up a girl? Oh this I have to see. What kind of girl would go home with you?

Spike: You did.

Buffy: I so did not.

Spike: I love your memory. Just because you are all married now means you just forget the past.

Buffy: Move out of my way or you won’t have a damn future.

Spike: No.

Buffy walks up to Kate.

Buffy: Shoot him.

Kate: It won’t kill him.

Buffy: I know but it will hurt like all hell.

Kate: Okay. How many times?

Buffy: I don’t care. Your call.

Spike: You bitches are crazy.

Kate: Going to move.

Spike: No.

Kate shoots him.

Kate: Going to move?

Spike: Hell no.

Kate shoots him and he falls down on his knees.

Buffy: That should do it. Unless you are having too much fun.

Kate: I was but lets check out the rest of this place.

Buffy: Xander?

Xander: I will never get in either one of your ways.

Kate: Good idea.

They head down the hall.

Spike: Bloody hell.

He follows them. He tries to stop them but Kate raises her gun and he back up.

Spike: This is bloody ridiculous.

They search each room including all closets. One door is locked.

Buffy: Like a little lock would stop me.

She goes to kick the door.

Kate: Let me.

Buffy: Sure, almost forgot.

Kate kicks in the door. There is a lump in the middle of the bed. Xander and Buffy hold their stakes at the ready as Buffy throws back the covers.

Buffy: Willow! Oh my god.

Xander leans down and touches her neck.

Xander: She is alive.

Spike: Stay away from her. She belongs with me.

Buffy turns and heads toward Spike. Xander grabs her.

Xander: Caitlin.

Spike takes off.

Buffy: Damn it.

Kate: Who is Caitlin?

Buffy: The baby. Xander thanks.

Xander: No problem.

Buffy turns back toward Willow. She brushes her hair off her face.

Buffy: What did he do to her?

Xander: I don’t know, but I really don’t think he would hurt her. Actually he can’t hurt her.

Buffy: I guess you are right. Lets just get her home.

Xander carries her out and they place her in the back seat. They say good bye to Kate and drive to the house. As Xander carries her in, Dawn opens the door.

Dawn: You found her. I she alive? Is she?

Buffy: Yes, but unconscious. Spike had her.

Xander lays her on the sofa.

Dawn: Spike?

Buffy: Yes.

Willow begans to awaken.

Buffy: Willow. Willow, it’s me. Are you okay?

Willow: Buffy.

She looks around.

Willow: Where’s Spike?

Buffy: He’s not here. Can you tell me what happened?

Willow: Not sure. I was in my room and I thought someone came in and before I could turn around, I was waking up in another room. Not sure where thought.

Buffy: The mansion.

Willow: Oh. Yeah I guess it was.

Buffy: Did Spike hurt you?

Willow: No, but Buffy he thinks he is in love with me. He is not right.

Buffy: Well don’t worry, as soon as I find him, he is dust.

Dawn: No, Buffy, you can’t.

Buffy: I can and I will.

Dawn: It is not his fault.

Buffy: Don’t defend him, he drugged and kidnapped Willow. He could have hurt her or the baby.

Willow’s eyes get big.

Dawn: You think he is going to hurt your baby? He won’t. He can’t. he just thinks he is in love with Willow. He is not dangerous.

Buffy: Dawn, aren’t you listening. He broke in here and kidnapped Willow. We have not idea what else he will do. He has lost touch with reality. That makes him very dangerous.

Dawn: But it’s not his fault. It’s not his fault.

She start crying.

Willow: Dawn, you are not telling us something.

Dawn: I will fix it. I can fix it.

Willow: Fix what? Dawn?

Dawn: Nothing. I got to go.

Xander grabs her. She tries to struggle.

Buffy: Dawn, what the hell did you do?

Willow: Dawn, tell me. I deserve to know.

Dawn: It was suppose to be me. Me, not you. But you got in the way. It’s not fair.

Buffy: How come I am suspecting something supernatural here?

Xander: Maybe because we are in Sunnydale.

Buffy cuts him a look.

Buffy: Dawn, start talking and start talking fast.

Dawn: Just let me go and I can fix it.

Willow: Dawn, show me the spell.

Dawn: What spell?

Buffy: Dawn!

Dawn: Fine.

She goes to her room and brings back the book.

Buffy: Where did you get this?

Dawn: I bought it from the shop.

Buffy: Anya would not have sold you this.

Dawn: I sold it to me. I paid for it. I did not steal it. I wrote up a receipt. I just used a different name.

Buffy: Just show us the spell.

Dawn opens the book.

Dawn: This one.

Willow: Let me see.

Buffy: You sure?

Willow: I am the only one here who can assure it is effectively reversed.

Dawn: I can do it. I did it in the first place.

Buffy: And we will discuss that later. Willow just tell me what to do. I don’t want you actually doing any magic.

Willow: I need some Dragons’ Blood resin, Orris Root, and Warmwood. It should all be locked in the trunk in the basement.

Xander: I’ll go.

Dawn: I’ll help.

Buffy: No, Dawn sit. You are not leaving my sight. Xander the key is in my purse.

She get the key and he retrieves the stuff. Willow guides Buffy through the simple incantation.

Buffy: Let his heart be his own.

Willow: That should do it.

Xander: I hope so. Buffy, want me to go find him?

Buffy: No, let him be. I will find him later if he don‘t come by.

Dawn: I am sorry.

Buffy: Just go study. I am not ready to deal with this. Willow, you okay?

Willow: I need to go to the bathroom. I am feeling nauseas.

Buffy: From the drugs.

Willow: I don’t think so.

She heads for the stairs with Buffy’s help. Buffy comforts her upstairs.

Buffy: You going to be okay?

Willow: I think so. (laughs)

Buffy: What?

Willow: Us. You faint. I puke. Not the cover of Maternity Weekly.

Buffy: You can’t be having morning sickness.

Willow: Then why have I been getting sick everyday since I woke up in the hospital.

Buffy: You have. Did you tell the doctor?

Willow: He said it happens to some women. Told me to try saltines.

Buffy: And?

Willow: Hasn’t helped.

Dawn: Are you okay?

Willow: Fine. Just a little nausea.

Dawn: I am sorry about the drugs. I didn’t think he would do that. I suspected it had not worked but then last night I saw him leave and I knew it backfired. I am sorry.

Willow: It is okay, but Dawn magic is not the way to get someone to love you. Look what it did to Tara and I.

Dawn: I know. But you are going to be okay. No more puking.

Willow looks at Buffy. Buffy shrugs.

Willow: Oh yeah lost more. Maybe for months to come.

Dawn: What did he give you?

Willow: Not him. Oz. It’s what Oz gave me.
