Forever, Always, and Then Some

Chapter 100

Sunnydale

The next morning.

Buffy is cleaning while Conner is in his playpen with his toys. Angel comes down stairs and stands in the doorway watching her load the washer. He can’t help but smile.

Buffy: What are doing?

Angel: Watching you. Are you done?

Buffy: No, I have a lot to do today.

Angel: And everyone else?

Buffy: Dawn is working and Willow is taking summer classes.

Angel walks over and picks her up.

Buffy: What are you doing?

Angel constrains her mouth with his own and walks into the living room. He lowers them on to the sofa without ever letting their lips part. His tongue penetrates into her mouth and backs out only to dive back in again. His hand fiddles with the clasp of her overalls. She pushes against him but he ignores her resistance and releases both catches and tugs at the bib forcing it down. She grabs at the waist .

Buffy: (m) Stop

He ignores her in his pursuit to undress her.

Buffy: (m) Not now.

As he feels the heavy material begin to move, there is a knock at the door. He stops kissing her and looks into her face. The door opens.

Emily: Buffy, I’m here.

Angel sits up in shock and Buffy grabs at her overalls.

Buffy: I tried to tell you.

Emily: Oh my. I am so sorry.

She turns to leave.

Buffy: Don’t go.

Emily: I thought we had a meeting.

Buffy: We do. Angel here didn’t know and well.

Angel: Why didn’t you say something?

Buffy: A little hard to talk with your tongue in my mouth.

Angel looks at her not believing she just said that.

Buffy: Well it is.

Emily: Do you want me to come back later?

Buffy: No. Crystal and Giles should be here soon.

Angel: Giles is here?

Buffy: Yes. You seem to miss a lot tracking demons in underground caverns.

Angel: It appears. And I am still missing things.

His look lets her know what he means but is lost on Emily.

Buffy: Emily why don’t you go on in the dining room. I will get the tea.

Angel follows Buffy into the kitchen.

Angel: Any more surprises?

Buffy: Not that I know of. And if you had given me a second I would have told you I had a meeting. It has been planned for awhile. And Giles is only here for a few days.

Angel: I am not complaining. I just was hoping to spend time with you and Conner.

Buffy: Conner is in the living room all by himself. And as soon as we finish, I am all yours.

Angel: Do I hear a promise?

Buffy: Yes, but please no more attempted rapes.

Angel: What?! I would never rape you. I wouldn’t do that.

Buffy: Relax, I was just kidding around.

She walks up to him.

Buffy: I know you wouldn’t. You could never do that.

She reaches up toward his face to draw him into a kiss and he turns his head away and won’t even look at her. She touches his cheek and he walks back into the living room. She watches as he talks to Conner than picks him up and takes him over to the sofa to play. As she watches there is a knock at the door and Giles walks in with Crystal.

Giles: Hello.

He notices Angel.

Giles: Hello there. I saw your car. I guess you finished your mission okay.

Angel: Got the bad guy.

Giles: Well good then.

Buffy: Giles, we are meeting in the dining room.

They walk in and Buffy hands Giles a pad of paper and a pen. He looks at her.

Buffy: (m to Giles) I need you to answer a question.

Giles nods.

Buffy: (m) Did Angelus ever rape his victims?

Giles looks at her then writes on the pad: Why?

Buffy: (m) Just tell me.

Giles writes: Yes, but why?

Buffy: (m) Why did you never tell me?

Giles writes: Why do you ask?

Buffy: (m) Because I just put my not so small foot in my very large mouth.

Giles writes: What happened?

Buffy: (m) Not important. But what I still need to know is why you never told me?

Giles writes: Thought you were better off not knowing. Now tell me what happened?

Buffy: (m) Okay. Well Angel got a little aggressive earlier.

Giles writes: What?

Buffy: (m) Not like that. Just very well forceful, which was fine, if I was not expecting company. So I teased him about it and mistakenly used the word rape and he got upset. Real upset. And now won’t talk to me.

Giles: I’m sorry.

Buffy: (m) If I had know I would have never said what I said. It was a joke, I thought.

Giles writes: Go talk to him.

Buffy looks at Giles and he nods and points toward the living room. Buffy walks in and sits on the sofa.

Angel: What?

Buffy: You do know how much I love you?

Angel: Yes I do.

Buffy: And you know I was only joking around?

Angel: I did not see the humor.

Buffy: What if I told you I didn’t know?

Angel: Didn’t know what?

Buffy: Angel, Giles never told me. I never knew about what Angelus did. If I had I would never had said that to you. You have to know that.

Angel: I just can’t believe you accused me of doing that to you.

Buffy: I didn’t. I was just trying to tease you about your over eager approach and I guess I chose the wrong word. I never ever meant to accuse you of anything. Besides, if Emily had not come in, I was about to help you with your quest and much more. So much more.

Angel: How long is this meeting?

Buffy: Not sure. We need to make some decisions on training for both Faith and Crystal. But it won’t get done if I am in here.

Angel: Do they really need you?

Buffy: Yes, but I will try and hurry.

She gets up and gives him a quick kiss and goes back to the dining room. But Conner immediately starts fussing. Angel tries to get him to play but he keeps looking around and whining. Angel carries him to the dining room.

Angel: Sorry, but Buffy, he is getting upset since you left. What am I missing?

Buffy: Nothing but me. Ever since we were in Vegas he hates for me to be too far away. I can take him.

Angel: But…

Buffy: Or you can stay in here with us.

Giles: Actually, I want to ask your opinion.

Angel: On what?

Giles: What is your impression of Faith’s fighting skills?

Angel: Not sure what you are asking.

Buffy: What are her strengths and weaknesses? We can’t agree here.

Angel: I am suddenly not liking these questions.

Giles: Why?

Angel: I get the feeling if I say the wrong thing I may find out how uncomfortable the sofa can get.

Buffy: Something to consider.

Giles: Buffy.

Buffy: Sorry. Angel your safe.

Angel: Well Faith has a lot of power. She can put a lot into a single punch. Much more than Buffy.

Buffy: What?

Angel: You want me to finish.

Buffy: Go ahead.

Angel: What I was saying she puts a lot into a single punch but that is all she has. She relies on taking one down on brute force alone and that is not always enough. She lacks any follow up or any imagination. I have fought her when she was not holding anything back and she lost. But on the other hand Buffy does not hit as hard but she keeps you on your guard. She has beat me more than once.

Crystal: Beat you?

Angel: Yes. My wife can kick my butt and I know it. Only one I know who can.

Buffy: So you think you could beat Faith but not me.

Angel: I know it.

Giles: So what does she need to work on.

Angel: Not sure if what she needs can be learned. It is kinda of innate.

Giles: Any suggestions?

Angel: As long as she relies on the power punch she will never learn to rely on her other capabilities.

Buffy: But how do we stop her?

Angel: Put her in a situation that the punch will be disastrous. Have her spar with Crystal.

Crystal: What?!

Angel: She won’t use her power punch but she will still want to win.

Crystal: I have seen her knock you into a wall. I am not letting her hit me.

Angel: First of all, she knocked me into the wall because I let my guard down. Secondly, she won’t hurt you. That is the point we want her to learn to win with out hitting.

Crystal: How?

Angel: Imagination. Besides you can take care of yourself.

Crystal: Not hardly.

Angel: Buffy, can you take Conner.

Buffy: Sure

Conner: Mamamama

Angel: I see.

Buffy: Dada came first.

Angel: Not that I have heard it lately.

Buffy: Oh he says it. Sometimes to much.

Angel: Crystal and Emily come here.

They walk up to him.

Angel: Emily I want you to try and slap Crystal.

Emily: I am not sure I understand.

Angel: You have had extensive training by now. Use what you know and try and slap her.

Emily: Crystal?

Crystal: I guess.

Emily swings up and Crystal blocks the right. Emily comes back with a left and Crystal barely misses the block.

Crystal: Hey! What is with the double try?

Emily: Checking the reflexes. Pretty good.

Angel: I knew they were. I have watched her with Conner. She is always aware of what is going on. That is important for survival.

Emily: So you suggest we pair her with Faith and Faith will not want to hurt her so will avoid the power punches and go for more creative tactics.

Angel: Yes.

Buffy: It will be up to Crystal, but why not me. Might make her even more cautious.

Angel: Because you two have way too much history and we don’t need it explored.

Buffy: Oh. Think she still might hold a grudge for the stabbing.

Angel: Being put in a coma for eight months may make her a bit testy.

Crystal: What?

Buffy: Just a little bit of info on me. Don’t try and kill those I love. I don’t take it lying down.

Crystal: She tried to kill someone?

Buffy: She poisoned Angel. He almost died.

Crystal: So you stabbed her.

Buffy: The only cure for the poison was to drain the blood of a slayer. So I was going to get one.

Giles: But you didn’t

Buffy: No. But I came close. I stabbed her before she escaped.

Crystal: So I guess you found another cure.

Buffy: No, another slayer.

Crystal: But there is only one.

Buffy: No. Two remember.

Crystal: Oh my.

Buffy lifts her hair.

Buffy: Kinda gives me a little distinction don’t you think.

Crystal: Oh my.

Angel: Buffy, please don’t.

Buffy: I am not ashamed. I would do it again.

Angel: I wouldn’t

Buffy: If you remember, I gave you no choice.

Angel: I remember. But your life is more important than mine. Not that I am really alive.

Buffy: Well I don’t agree and neither does Conner or Caitlin. Dead men don’t reproduce.

Giles: Can we get back to the matters we came here for?

Buffy: I guess.

She glances at Angel and he looks into her eyes.

Buffy: I think you three can handle the rest. Crystal can you keep an eye on Conner?

Crystal: Sure, if he will let me.

Buffy: Just call me if he gets too fussy.

Giles: Where you going?

Buffy: Upstairs to spend some time with my husband.

Giles: Ah yes, I see.

Buffy: Bye Giles.

She takes Angel’s hand and leads him upstairs and into their room. She locks the door. She points at the bed. He lies down and smiles. She walks over and straddles his thighs. She reaches for his belt buckle. He grabs her hands.

Angel: What are you doing?

Buffy: Let go. And stop asking stupid questions.

Angel: You can’t.

Buffy: And why not?

Angel: Messy.

Buffy leans over and opens her nightstand and removes a small square package. She holds it up.

Buffy: This should handle the problem when the time comes.

Angel: Where did you get that?

Buffy: The store. They sell them there.

Angel: So you planned this.

Buffy: And many more. I bought a whole box.

Angel laughs. She tucks it into her front pocket and unhooks his belt. He reaches up and pulls her beside him. As she releases him from his clothing, he begins kissing her and his hands gently rubs her back. She begins to slowly stroke him. His kiss becomes more demanding and her hand accelerates its motion. His hand roams over her back and migrates to her breast. He pulls back.

Angel: Are you getting bigger?

Buffy: All over.

Angel: I mean your breasts. They were always a nice size but now they are even more so.

Buffy: I knew you would notice.

Angel: A bit hard to miss.

His hand gently massage her bust. His mouth resumes it’s assault on hers. She continues her delightful pursuit. He attempts to keep his vocals under control. Noticing this she switches hands long enough to reach over him and click on her bedside radio.

Buffy: Enjoy.

Angel: Don’t worry I am.

He resumes the kiss and becomes caught up in the sensuality. Suddenly he grabs her hand.

Angel: Stop.

Buffy: Ready for cover.

Angel: Uh, huh.

Buffy reaches into her pocket and removes and opens the package. He watches as she slides it on.

Angel: You have done this before.

Buffy looks him in the eye.

Buffy: Yes, is that a problem.

Angel: No. It shouldn’t be.

Buffy resumes the motion. He smiles.

Angel: Feels different.

Buffy: You have never worn one?

Angel: Never needed to before.

Buffy: I guess not. But get use to it.

Angel: Yes ma’am.

She leans forward and runs her tongue along his lips. He gasp and wraps his hand in her hair before forcing his mouth onto hers and as the pleasures below begin to intensify so does the use of their tongues. His hand again seeks out her breast and she groans at the sensation. All to soon she feels him quiver and jerk as he climaxes. His own sounds muffled by hers.

Buffy: You feel so good.

Angel: Do want to feel something even better?

Buffy: What do you have in mind?

From down stairs come Crystal’s voice.

Crystal: Buffy!

Buffy: Yes.

Crystal: He starting to really get upset.

Buffy looks at Angel.

Buffy: He lasted longer than I expected he would.

She heads out the door. He lies there for a moment in confusion before getting up. By the time she comes in with a crying Conner, he has fixed his clothing.

Buffy: Look who is here.

Angel: Hey little guy. Why are you so sad?

Buffy sits on the bed.

Angel: He has been like this for three weeks?

Buffy: Ever since we got back from Vegas. Every time I step away for too long he gets upset. I can’t even go grocery shopping without him. I understand it but I don’t know how to fix it.

Angel: Will he come to me?

Buffy: Ask him?

Angel holds out his hands and Conner goes to him. Angel leans against the headboard and sets him in his lap. Buffy walks around the room and Conner watches her every move. She grabs a bunch of toys and tosses them on the bed.

Angel: Whoa Conner. Mommy is throwing things at us.

Buffy lies down on the bed and watches them play . Conner crawls over an pats her face.

Buffy: Hey sweety. You better now.

Angel: So what now?

Buffy: If you go fix him a bottle, I may be able to get him to take a nap.

Angel: He don’t look sleepy.

Buffy: It is almost his nap time and once he has the warm milk he usually nods right off.

Angel warms the bottle and carries it upstairs. Buffy lies Conner down beside her and begins feeding him.

Angel: Anything more I can do?

Buffy: I have a big request.

Angel: What?

Buffy: Rub my back. It is killing me.

Angel: Sure.

He rubs her back and sides.

Buffy: That feels good.

Angel notices the buttons on the side of her overalls.

Angel: Why all the buttons here?

Buffy: Those are for more room later.

Angel: Oh, so they are for pregnant women. Not just regular ones.

Buffy: Yes. They are maternity overalls.

Angel: I like them. They are cute.

Buffy: Great. I am cute.

Angel: But still sexy

Buffy: Now that I like better.

Angel: Get him to sleep then we’ll talk about how sexy you are.

As Conner finishes his bottle he nods off.

Angel: Buffy, I think he is asleep.

Hearing no answer he looks at her and realizes Conner is no the only one nodded off. He picks up Conner and places him in the crib and then covers Buffy and leaves the room.
